Trioday Tablet (Efavirenz 600mg, Lamivudine 300mg and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate 300mg) – Overview
Trioday Tablet contains Efavirenz 600mg, Lamivudine 300mg, and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate 300mg is a fixed-dose combination medication used to treat HIV infection in adults and adolescents. This medication contains three antiretroviral agents that work together to reduce the amount of HIV in the body and improve immune function.
Medical Uses / Indications
This combination is indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older. It is usually prescribed as part of antiretroviral therapy (ART) to help control HIV infection.
How Trioday tablet Works (Mechanism of Action)
- Efavirenz is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), blocking the reverse transcriptase enzyme needed for viral replication.
- Lamivudine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) that blocks reverse transcriptase, preventing viral RNA from being converted into DNA.
- Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NtRTI), which also blocks reverse transcriptase and prevents viral replication.
Together, these drugs inhibit HIV replication at different stages, reducing viral load and slowing the progression of the disease.
